Suez Canal: a year of vessel activity

How to read this diagram

Show the latest 52 completed Monday–Sunday weeks ending no later than the latest retained date. The grid includes all 364 calendar positions. Values are in transits per day, with one shared linear colour scale within this story. Reported zero is pale cream; missing days are grey and are never filled with zero. Each cell retains its original date and value. These are the source’s vessel-activity estimates, not a measure of cargo value or proof of disruption.

Transits, all vessel types in transits per day. Weekly full rebuild. Retained owner-export values; no unit conversion or daily averaging is applied.

Daily IMF PortWatch observations retained in the owner World Freight Monitor export. Calls, estimated tonnes and capacity measures remain separate; estimates are not customs-recorded cargo totals. This is a selected 356-entity, trailing 400-day export, not the complete worldwide publisher database. Missing days create gaps and zero stays zero. Exact exported numeric tokens are preserved. The owner normalization does not retain original publisher decimal formatting or row flags. Export point positions, individual file hashes, units, source layers and snapshot revision metadata remain in the JSON entity files. Revision is the maximum in that export file, not a revision flag for every point. All 839,264 exported values independently matched a read-only owner database snapshot.

Values, source flags and notes retain the reviewed snapshot. No new observations are acquired or interpolated.
